Norman Martens, born in Breda The Netherlands, graduated in sustainable tourism, has been taxidermist since 2013. From 2016 to 2020 Norman had his own shop in Antwerp (Belgium). Nowadays he workds from his studio in Breda, The Netherlands. Arthur, his loyal basset hound named after the shop, can often be found there. Norman's interest in taxidermy en preserving animals dates from his 6-months stay in the Amazone of Suriname at the start of the millennium. But he is also interested in history like the flourishment of taxidermy in the 19th century. The name Sir Arthur has its origins in that century from the author of the Sherlock Holmes books (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle).
